Scholarship Description:

Professor Xiong’s laboratory is part of Emory University School of Medicine, ranked Tier 1 in the 2023-2024 U.S. News Best Medical Schools for Research. The lab is located in the state-of-the-art medical research building on Emory’s main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, which boasts advanced facilities and a beautiful campus environment. The Atlanta metropolitan area has a mild climate, a thriving economy, and a vibrant Chinese community.

Our research focuses on the development and diseases of the urinary system, particularly prostate cancer and kidney diseases. We utilize cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, immunology, and mouse genetic models to explore how metabolism (such as lipid metabolism) and cytokines regulate cell fate and function, covering molecular mechanisms, cellular pathways, and disease model studies.

Available Subjects:

  • Cancer and cell research.

Eligibility criteria:

  • PhD in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, medicine, genetics, or a related field (completed or expected).
  • At least one relevant publication as the first or corresponding author.
  • Experience with cancer cells, T cells, or endothelial cells.
  • Familiarity with mouse models, immunohistochemistry, super-resolution microscopy, next-generation sequencing, or mass spectrometry.
