Scholarship Description:
Dr. Bingjie Zhang, who graduated from Tsinghua University’s School of Life Sciences in 2019 under Professor Wei Xie, focuses on the role of epigenomics in early embryonic development. She conducted her postdoctoral research at the New York Genome Institute, working with experts Rahul Satija and Dan Littman on single-cell multi-omics technology development and epigenetic regulation of immune cells.
Dr. Zhang has received the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation Award (2019) and the Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund research grant (2019-2022). She has published multiple high-quality papers as the first author in prestigious journals such as Nature, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Immunology, and Molecular Cell.
In May 2025, she will join the Department of Systems Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center as an Assistant Professor.
Available Subjects:
- Development of single-cell multi-omics technologies.
- Epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of cancer cell plasticity.
- Epigenetic basis of personalized drug responses.
Eligibility criteria:
- PhD in biology or a related field, or expected to obtain one soon.
- Background in tumor biology, genomics, or computational biology is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit; we encourage both internal and external collaboration.
- Strong English communication, reading, and writing abilities.
