Scholarship Description:
Currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Brain Hospital affiliated with Guangzhou Medical University and the leader of the Sleep and Rhythm Medicine Center, he is also the Chair of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Sleep Research Society. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the NIH in the U.S. and an assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the role and mechanisms of neuropsychological factors in sleep disorders and their impact on mental and physical diseases.
He has led 11 major funding projects, including four healthcare grants and one RGC grant from the Hong Kong government, five National Natural Science Foundation projects, and one National Key R&D Program project. He has published over 100 papers, cited more than 4,300 times, with an H-index of 42. In the past three years, he has published 13 articles as the lead or corresponding author in journals such as Nat Human Behav, Eur Heart J, Lancet Healthy Longev, Nat Commun, NPJ Digit Med, Ann Neurol, J Sport Health Sci, and JACC Heart Fail. His research has been included in several authoritative textbooks and guidelines in both Chinese and English, recognized by Science’s Editors’ Choice, and recommended by the Nature portfolio. It has also been positively cited by prestigious journals like Science, Eur Heart J, Circulation, J Am Coll Cardiol, and Sleep Med Rev. He received the “Young Scientist Award” at the 6th World Sleep Medicine Congress and has been listed as one of the top 2% scientists globally by Elsevier for two consecutive years.
Available Subjects:
- Sleep Disorders and Biological Rhythms (Sleep-Wake): Investigating the pathogenic role and mechanisms of sleep-wake rhythms in major cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, integrating both basic and clinical research.
- Psychosomatic Medicine (Brain-Heart Interaction): Focusing on the interaction between brain and heart in psychosomatic medicine, this research explores the effects of psychological stress on cardiovascular metabolic diseases and their neurobiological mechanisms, integrating basic and clinical approaches.
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must be under 35 years old and have obtained a PhD from a well-known domestic or international university within the last three years. They should have accumulated relevant experience or foundational research in a specific area, with at least one SCI publication as the first or corresponding author, and be able to commit full-time to postdoctoral work.
- Applicants should have a background in clinical medicine (preferably in cardiology, internal medicine, neurology, or psychiatry), neuroscience, bioinformatics, neurobiology, neuroimaging, medical engineering, psychiatry, psychology, artificial intelligence, or big data. Candidates from related medical fields with research training are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, independent innovation, teamwork, and scientific research abilities are essential. Proficiency in English is required, with the ability to read academic literature and write papers effectively.
