Scholarship Description:
biomedicine. The research outcomes are expected to be submitted to top journals and conferences in the fields of artificial intelligence, power systems, and biology. Dr. Wang’s research areas include trustworthy machine learning, population-based machine learning, machine learning for smart grids, and machine learning for biology, with publications in leading journals and conferences in these domains.
Dr. Wang has received multiple NSF grants and was awarded the 2023 ORAU Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award. He is also a faculty member of the Institute for Data, Econometrics, Algorithms, and Learning (IDEAL), responsible for industry collaborations. His lab closely collaborates with several top AI labs, national laboratories, and universities in the U.S.
Additionally, Dr. Wang is an organizer of various conferences and workshops, such as the Midwest ML Symposium, IEEE MASS, and the Workshop on Privacy and Interpretability in Generative AI: Peering into the Black Box.

Eligibility criteria:
- Participate in research and development of algorithms related to AI applications in smart grids and biomedicine.
- Assist with data collection, processing, and analysis.
- Contribute to the writing of research papers.
- Regularly communicate online with the supervisor and team members to report on research progress.
- Strong background or knowledge in power systems or biomedicine is required.
- Solid mathematical foundation and strong programming skills are necessary.
- A passion for research, diligence, optimism, and timely communication with the supervisor are essential.
- (Preferred) Experience in deep learning.
- (Preferred) Experience in publishing papers in related fields.
