Scholarship Description:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kansas State University is recruiting two fully funded PhD students in the biomedical engineering area for fall 2025. The monthly living stipend is approximately 16,000 RMB.

Professor Zhu Ninghao’s research group focuses on developing single-molecule gene probes and organ-on-a-chip technologies to study the mechanisms of diseases such as cancer metastasis and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as drug screening and treatment strategies.

Available Subjects:

  • Single-molecule gene probes and organ-on-a-chip technologies.

Eligibility criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or bioinformatics, either obtained or to be obtained.
  • Preference given to candidates with research experience during their undergraduate or master’s studies and published results in SCI journals.
  • Research experience in one of the following fields is preferred: tissue engineering, immunology, bioinformatics, molecular biology.
  • Preference for candidates with skills in one or more of the following: cell culture, real-time PCR, fluorescence microscopy, sequencing, programming.
  • Minimum standardized test score requirements:
  • a. GRE (not required): Verbal: 145, Quantitative: 160, Analytical: 3.0
  • b. TOEFL: 85, with no score below 20 in reading, listening, and writing sections.
