Scholarship Description:

Dr. Chu-Chu Wang obtained her Ph.D. in Cell Biology in 2019 under the supervision of Researcher Cong Liu at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2020 to 2025, she conducted postdoctoral research in Neurobiology and Structural Cell Biology under the guidance of Professor Axel Brunger at Stanford University. She has published multiple papers as first or co-first author in journals such as Nature, Nature Aging, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols, National Science Review, PNAS, eLife, and Bioinformatics.
Available Subjects:
- Conducting in-depth studies on the physiological and pathological mechanisms of human aging and neurodegenerative diseases using in situ structural biology techniques (cryo-EM/ET, in-cell NMR), mass spectrometry-based lipidomics, proteomics, cell biology, bioinformatics, and molecular biology methods.
Eligibility criteria:
- International applicants must provide English test scores (TOEFL/IELTS), except for students from English-speaking countries and regions (the language of instruction is usually stated on the university transcript, or the applicant may be required to provide a letter from the university confirming that the language of instruction is English).
- TOEFL/IELTS test dates must be within two years prior to the application date.
- Applicants who have graduated from universities in Singapore may be exempt from providing English test scores.
- TOEFL: Minimum scores are 100 (internet-based), 237 (computer-based), and 600 (paper-based).
- IELTS: Minimum score is 6.5.
- Applicants who did not graduate from Singaporean universities must submit GRE scores. GRE requirements: Verbal + Quantitative ≥ 319 and Analytical Writing ≥ 3.5. GRE test dates must be within five years prior to the application date.
