Scholarship Description:

The laboratory of Dr. Jingli Cao at Weill Cornell Medical College invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position.

The Cao Lab, part of the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) and the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology, focuses on the mechanisms of innate tissue regeneration, particularly heart regeneration. We employ a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing zebrafish models, human stem cells, cardiac organoids, explant tissue culture, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, chemical screening, live imaging, and genome editing techniques like CRISPR/Cas9.

Our research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, NYSTEM, Rudin Foundation, Feldstein Foundation, and others.

Eligibility criteria:

  • We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in stem cell biology, tissue regeneration, and heart disease and repair. Candidates with research experience in cell biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, or animal models are especially encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required.
  • Successful candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative research environment at CVRI, benefiting from the Tri-Institutional research community, which includes Weill Cornell Medical College, The Rockefeller University, and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
