Scholarship: Fully-funded
Degree: Bachelor/Master/Ph.D
Nationality: International Students
Location: Singapore
Application deadlines: Open
Scholarship Description:
Two postdoc positions are available at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Both positions can start immediately (upon completion of necessary administrative processes). The initial contrast is one year and the extension is possible based on mutual agreement.
The PI, Lailai Zhu (www.lailaiflow.com), has published as the first/corresponding authors in Nat. Commun., Phys. Rev. Lett., and J. Fluid Mech. He has also co-authored publications in Science Robotics, Nature Biotechnology, and PNAS by providing modelling support to experimental findings.
Available Subjects:
- 1) AI-driven weather forecasts and
- 2) fluid mechanics.
Eligibility criteria:
- The first position focuses on AI-driven weather prediction. Applicants are expected to possess experience in deep learning, with expertise in relevant architectures such as transformers (including vision transformers), foundation models, generative models, or comparable frameworks. A background in weather/climate science is advantageous but not required.
- The second position focuses on broadly defined fluid mechanics and transport phenomena. Successful candidates shall have experience in at least one of the following approaches: numerical simulation, theoretical modeling, or AI/ML methods applied to fluid systems, transport processes, or soft matter physics.
Application Procedure:
Interested candidates may email a CV to Dr Lailai Zhu
([email protected]). Applicants for the second position may also submit a research proposal (within one page) outlining their ongoing/future research interests.
