Scholarship Description:
Researcher, Ph.D. Supervisor, Discipline Leader, National High-Level Overseas Young Talent, Shanghai High-Level Overseas Talent, Former Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University, Member of the Steering Committee for the International Depression Screening Individual Data Project (DEPRESSD). He obtained his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Quantitative Methods from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York in 2017. He served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University from 2018 to 2022 and as an Associate Researcher from 2022 to 2024.
His research group focuses on psychiatric epidemiology and big data in psychological measurement, particularly in developing screening methods and individualized risk prediction models for depression and other mental illnesses. They also apply innovative evidence-based methods combining big data in public health management and epidemiology. His research has been published as the sole first author in top international journals such as BMJ, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, and J Clin Epidemiol, including one paper recognized as an ESI Highly Cited Paper. He serves as a guest reviewer for journals like Lancet Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics.

- Bioinformatics (Multi-omics) Analyzing biological data, particularly in genomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics.
- Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning) Using deep learning algorithms to process complex data in image recognition and natural language processing.
- Psychometrics Applying statistical methods to assess the reliability and validity of psychological measurement tools.
- Epidemiology Studying the distribution and determinants of diseases in populations and evaluating public health interventions.
- Biostatistics Applying statistical methods to analyze biomedical data, supporting research and clinical trial design.
Eligibility criteria:
- Must have obtained a Ph.D. within the last three years; no specific field required, with preference for recent graduates; candidates should be 35 years old or younger.
- Interest in psychiatric epidemiology and mental health issues, with self-motivation and the ability to quickly learn new knowledge in the field.
- At least one first-author publication in English in a related field.
- Candidates with skills in bioinformatics (multi-omics), artificial intelligence (deep learning), psychometrics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or randomized controlled trials will be given preference.
