Scholarship Description:
The Department of Physiology is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team at Medical College of Wisconsin, Chun Liu lab (https://liuclab.com). Our research focuses on unraveling the complexities of cardiovascular diseases using state-of-the-art technologies, including induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models and CRISPR/Cas9 screening. This position will primarily contribute to projects aimed at dissecting novel regulators in cardiovascular diseases through CRISPR screening and iPSC.
Available Subjects:
- Develop and characterize iPSC-derived cardiovascular disease models.
- Design and execute CRISPR-based high-throughput screens to identify key genetic regulators in cardiovascular diseases.
- Analyze and interpret next generation sequencing data from CRISPR screens.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate findings into broader research initiatives.
- Contribute to manuscript writing and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
Eligibility criteria:
- Experience with cell culture, molecular techniques, immunohistochemical staining, Western blot.
- Experience with handling of laboratory animals is preferred.
- Experience with cardiovascular-related techniques is preferred.
- Experience with CRISPR, induced-pluripotent stem cell culture, and/or -omics is a plus.
- Required knowledge: biology, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, documentation, records management, data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills
