Scholarship Description:

Dr Ruobo Zhou received a B.S. in Applied Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Ph.D. in Physics (Biophysics) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then did postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Zhuang Xiaowei in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Harvard University; starting in 2021, he will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Penn State. Within 5 months of joining, he applied for the MIRA award, a 5-year research grant from the NIH. To date, he has published 8 research papers as first author or co-author in the top academic journals Science, Nature, and Cell, and more than 20 research papers in other high-impact academic journals such as Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Methods, PNAS, and Nano Letters (approximately 70% of all published research is published in journals with an impact factor greater than 10).
