Scholarship Description:

Dr You Li joined the Department of Bioengineering at The University of Texas at Dallas as an Assistant Professor in August 2023 and has collaborations with several research groups at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre (UTSW), Stanford University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and others. The group welcomes students from around the world interested in medical imaging research.

Dr You Li graduated from Duke University with a degree in biomedical engineering and was a postdoctoral fellow and instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. His research has been published in IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control and The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and received the New Investigator Award in Basic Science from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine in 2021. Science in 2021 and the K99 Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2021.

 Available Subjects:

  • Improving image quality and detection performance of medical ultrasound imaging devices based on neural network blood flow detection and velocity measurement, and modelling and reconstruction of non-linear acoustic phenomena in the human body using neural networks. The group’s work involves interdisciplinary research in statistical signal processing, high-performance parallel computing and artificial intelligence.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants will have a strong interest in the direction of the topic, research experience and publication record in related areas. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in artificial intelligence, medical imaging and image processing, acoustics, signal processing, clinical, etc.
